Fully Involved in Nutter 2007
I've been a supporter of Michael Nutter for some time now. But tonight was my first night, volunteering for the campaign. Had a great time. This man truly deserves to be our next Mayor.

Today was my last workshop as a Fellow and not alumni. We covered:
Met Alison Schwartz! Rapped about making political connects and how power and campaigning converge. Let me tell you, it was an eye opener.
Of course, I got dragged into a long discussion that I attempted to avoid. Mad eyes rolled. Oh, well! ;^P
Today, I got into campaigning nuts and bolts. Generally this involved political candidacy campaigns, but also is relevant to those like me interested in advocacy, e.g. Operation Truth. Met some amazing people in the business that will definitely be great mentors in my future endeavors in the non-profit world.

Found out about this conference today. Of course, registration is closed. Man was I pissed! I still will try to make a few session in Huntsman, but the Lunch sessions with West and Dyson are likely to be lost causes.
UPDATE: Had a tragicomic time learning from some our best minds on these problems. Spent a good part of my day with Cornel West on Thursday and hung a bit with Dyson on Friday. Those two are something else. Deep thoughts, easy to have a conversation, and a helluva sense of humor!
I finally have a message to work with and it is a powerful that two sentences can crystalize so much.
At Amo Financial Group, we believe that people who work fulltime shouldn't be poor. Amo Financial Group provides the educational tools, training, and financial services so that all of us are able to build wealth.
It's just a first draft but just wait and see how this develops. I'm on my way as a social entrepreneur!
Started a great training for serving on non-profit boards. I'm networking and expanding my knowledge, of course, but it's also a powerful feather in my cap. The United Way is a no joke organization despite it's past problems. It's got a lot of clout.
This session was held in Harrisburg. It focused on how the PA capital works in making state law. The workshop was great but the best part was driving home with a Fellow who I think will shape up to be a pretty cool friend. She is a powerful person destined to do great things for women in this country.
Great political workshop! Starting to see the lay of the land here in Philly. Started on some concrete work. Finally have a reasonably finalized plans.
Went to Pittsburgh. What little I saw was nice. Great message activities. Learned about messaging and saw some political successes. I also saw some of the haughtiness that conservatives characterize the "liberal elite." That needs a bit of checking. While liberal, I could stand a little elite in the pockets!
