Landed a great gig at Abacus Wealth Partners, LLC as a Wealth Management Analyst. Basically, I'll be managing client portfolios day-to-day.

Just got the verbal offer from one of my top choices!
This year's conference by the Wharton China Business Society was especially important as I'm start a fund to invest in China. There are plenty of opportunities, but the risks are far from academic. In dealing with a developing capitalist economy from a state controlled one, I'm living the problems I taught my students in MGMT 101 at Wharton. Cool, scary, and exciting!
Starting the job search in earnest now. House is in steady state comfortably. Now I have to get that gig!
Left UBS today. What a relief!
Passed my Series 66 exam. What a grueling, mind numbing test that was! Some of the questions were written so badly and obfuscated, I felt like I was guessing half the time.
Now, all that stands in my way is the insurance exam.
Today, I sat for my Series 7 exam and pulled out with a 92! My firm expects employees to pass on the first try and it was a real heart pounder waiting the 10 seconds for the score to come up on the screen.
I have to wait for the results to be sent to the NYSE, NASD, and my firm. So until then, I'm Official...I think.
Yesterday, I started my new job. I've been chomping at the bit for the last few days now and I'm now getting started on my new career. I'm grateful to God for this opportunity. I will make the best of it.
Accepted an offer for a position with UBS! I'm now, officially, career switched. Hello Financial Services Industry! Ready for me? ;-)
Tonight, I managed to pull off an event for my alumni club that I'd been trying to make happen for a couple of months. I hope that it augers more success for my club.
Went to the Wharton Technology Conference on Friday. Great conversation with luminaries in tech industry and great networking opportunities. I'm proud of my classmates once again pulling of one heck of an event. You really should've been there!
Here is a great quote:
"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got."
Bill McDermott, CEO SAP, on operational innovation being a core activity of every business in the next 3 to 5 years.
I recently signed up to a new networking site that's like Friendster on steriods. It's called LinkedIn.com. Basically it handles the infrastructure for handling your professional network of contacts. Whether you are a job seeker or salesperson, this site seems to have it together. I'm still a bit puzzled as to how this is economically viable. They seem to give a lot of value away.
